Late Model Returns to the Track — Test Session a Success

After years of setbacks and hard work behind the scenes, the Shatto Motorsports No. 110 Late Model finally returned to the track this past weekend for a long-awaited test session at Shady Bowl Speedway — and the results have the entire team fired up heading into the 2026 season.
Jacob Williams was behind the wheel for the break-in session on the freshly built motor. The day didn't start without a challenge — the team discovered a loose distributor that was throwing off the timing while the engine was running. But as it goes with this team, the right people showed up at the right time. Jeff Wooten arrived minutes later with a quick fix that got the car back on track.
"We all came together, said a prayer, and Jeff showed up right when we needed him," said Kevin Shatto, team owner. "That's how this team works. We look out for each other."
Once the issue was sorted, the session went smoothly. The motor ran healthy, the car handled well, and the team identified a few small items to button up before the season opener on May 9th.
"I couldn't be any more happy with how the day went," Kevin said. "After everything we've been through to get this car to the track, seeing it out there running strong — that's what it's all about."
The No. 110 Late Model is scheduled to make its competitive debut at Shady Bowl Speedway's Hot Pursuit Series on May 9th. Stay tuned for updates as the team prepares for opening night.
